ABOUT NICK SANDLIN
Professional reliever that was drafted by the Cleveland Indians during the second round of the 2018 Major League Draft. He pitched at the University of Southern Mississippi for three years. During his senior year, he was named the Conference USA Pitcher of the Year. He has gained some popularity across the majors due to his unorthodox sidearm pitching style.
He began his professional career playing for the AZL Indians rookie affiliate team. A few weeks later, he was promoted to the Lake County Captains.
He made his major league debut pitching against the Chicago White Sox on May 1, 2021. He pitched only one inning and recorded one strikeout. In his junior year of college, he won the C Spire Ferriss Trophy, which is awarded to the best collegiate baseball player in Mississippi.
He was born and raised in the Evans, Georgia area. His older brother, Jake, also played college baseball at the University of Southern Mississippi.
He once played college sports at Southern Miss just like Brett Favre and Brian Dozier .
