ABOUT NORGE RUIZ
Professional reliever that was first signed by the Oakland Athletics in 2016. He won a gold medal during the 2014 Central American and Caribbean Games in Veracruz, Mexico as a member of the Cuban national team. He made his major league debut pitching against the Seattle Mariners on August 19, 2022. He recorded two strikeouts and allowed seven hits.
He officially began his professional career in 2012 as a member of the Toros de Camagüey in the Cuban National Series. He later began playing for the DSL Athletics rookie affiliate team in 2017.
At the conclusion of his first year with the Cuba national team, he was given the Cuban National Series Rookie of the Year Award.
Growing up, he lived with his family in Camaguey, Cuba.
He played alongside Tony Kemp as a member of the Athletics during the 2022 regular season.
