ABOUT OBEA MOORE

American former sprinter who won gold medals in three separate events at the 1996 IAAF World Junior Championships in Athletics. At the 1995 Pan American Junior Athletics Championships he set the world youth record in the 400 meters with a time of 45.14.

He ran for the youth club the Los Angeles Jets under coach James Robertson.

Though he was considered one of the best young sprinters in the world, his Olympics dreams were dashed due to alcohol use and psychological issues.

His mother is Nanette Moore. He had a girlfriend who passed away while he was in college.

He competed against Ethiopia's Million Wolde at the 1996 IAAF World Junior Championships in Athletics.
