ABOUT OSCAR FRALEY
An American writer and journalist, he is best known as the co-author of the 1957 memoir, The Untouchables, which inspired a 1950s television series and a 1987 film. He also had a lengthy career as a sportswriter.
While working as a reporter for United Press International, he was introduced to his Untouchables co-writer, Eliot Ness. After several rounds of scotch at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, the two agreed to co-write a book.
Soon after its publication, The Untouchables sold more than 1.5 million copies.
He grew up in Woodbury, New Jersey. He died of heart failure in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
He assisted Jimmy Hoffa in writing an autobiography.
