Striker who set a record for the Uruguayan national team by scoring 8 career World Cup goals, all in the 1950s.

He began his professional career with the Uruguayan team C.A. Penarol Montevideo.

He scored 5 goals in the 1950 World Cup and helped lead the Uruguayan team to a Championship.

His son Eduardo Miguez also played professional soccer.

He and Jose Nasazzi were both early World Cup stars for Uruguay.
