Former wing for teams like Wellington in rugby union and the Wakefield Trinity in rugby league, earned Test caps for New Zealand and Australia.
He played his club-level rugby at Athletic Rugby Club and St. George.
He became just the third player to have played rugby union at the Test level for both New Zealand and Australia.
His father, Mortimer, played rugby in the 1930s for Auckland.
He and Culum Retallick both played for Bay of Plenty in rugby union.
