He began playing baseball at age 6. He was signed by the Atlanta Braves as an international free agent in June 2013.

He was named to the All-Stars Futures game in 2015. He began that season ranked as one of the top 100 prospects in professional baseball by Keith Law.

His full name is Ozhaino Jurdy Jiandro Albies. He has a brother named Zhhihir and a sister named Jeanalyn.

He was teammates with shortstop Dansby Swanson on the Atlanta Braves.
