ABOUT PAT BARKER
English novelist of historical fiction who is known for her books Blow Your House Down and The Regeneration Trilogy, which in 2012 The Observer named one of the 10 best historical novels. Her award winning writing centers on themes of memory, trauma, survival and recovery.
She studied international history at the London School of Economics.
In 2000, she was appointed to the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, rewarding individuals who have made major contributions to the arts and sciences.
She and her husband David Barker had two children, their daughter Anna Ralph is also a novelist.
Her work has been compared to that of Canadian novelist, Margaret Atwood .
