ABOUT PAT HENTGEN

Known for his riding fastball and for throwing lots of innings in his prime, he was a Cy Young Award winner in 1996 and a three-time All-Star.

Western Michigan University offered him a baseball scholarship, but he turned it down.

He won a World Series with the Toronto Blue Jays in 1993.

He was born in Detroit, Michigan.

He played for Tony LaRussa on the St. Louis Cardinals.
