ABOUT PATA

Japanese guitarist best known as the rhythm guitarist for the heavy metal band X Japan. He is also famous for his work with the side projects NoB and Ra:IN.

He is self-taught and learned to play guitar on a Fender Stratocaster. He joined his first band in 1980.

He is the only member of X Japan who uses American instruments.

His real name is Tomoaki Ishizuka.

He is longtime bandmates with bassist Hiroshi Morie in X Japan.
