Venezuelan journalist who is best recognized for having been the director of the newspaper El Nuevo Pais. She is known for her critique of the Venezuelan government for the Asi es la Noticia journal.

She attended the Andres Bello Catholic University where she earned her degree in Social Communication. She started her career shortly after covering the moves of foreign presidents. She gained further attention in 2007 when she covered the kidnapping of Ingrid Betancourt.

She is known for having won the King of Spain Journalism Award for her coverage of Peruvian dictator Alberto Fujimori and his right-hand man Vladimiro Montesinos.

She is the daughter of fellow acclaimed journalist Rafael Poleo.

She has frequently written about her relationship with Hugo Chávez and covered him in her book Tras las Huellas de Montesinos.
