Former #1 ranked tennis player in the world, and an inductee into the International Tennis Hall of Fame.

He turned professional in 1991.

In 1997, he became the first non-American to win the U.S. Open since 1992.

He married Lara Feltham in April, 2004.

Although John McEnroe considered him a "one-slam wonder" after his first U.S. open title, he won a second one the following year.
