ABOUT PATRICK SMITH
Heavyweight fighter and kickboxer who competed in the first and second Ultimate Fighting Championship events.
He was a star kickboxer before his MMA fame, and was at one time the #1 ranked super heavyweight kickboxer in America.
In addition to MMA and kickboxing, he has also been a black belt in Tae Kwon Do as well as in Hapkido, American Kenpo and Tang Soo Do.
He was born in Denver, Colorado. He was convicted of sexual assault in 1999; he died of cancer at age 55.
His first professional MMA bout came at UFC 1 against Ken Shamrock .
