Paul Creston
ABOUT PAUL CRESTON
American composer known as one of the most prolific of the 40's and 50's. He wrote the music theory texts Principles of Rhythm and Rational Metric Notation.
He was born Giuseppe Guttoveggio and was self-taught in music.
He was made an honorary member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia music fraternity.
His wife Louise donated the Paul Creston Collection to the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
He was a noted music teacher who educated the likes of John Corigliano .
