ABOUT PAUL KUUSBERG
Estonian writer who rose to prominence in the 1970s. His early works, including The Walls, fall into the category of socialist realism. His later works deal with themes of business and war and include such titles as The Case of Andres and Lapateus Enn Kalmu Kaks Mina.
He worked in construction during his early adulthood. He later joined the Red Army and fought in the German-Soviet War.
He served as Secretary of the Writers Union of the Estonian SSR from 1976 until 1983.
He was born and raised in Tallinn, Estonia. He completed his studies at Moscow's Higher Party School and subsequently pursued a career as a journalist.
He was born in the same country as fellow writer Oskar Luts .
