ABOUT PAULETTE BOURGEOIS
Canadian children's author best known for creating the character Franklin the Turtle. Her books have been adapted into films and TV shows and have sold more than 60 million copies worldwide.
She attended the University of Western Ontario and worked as an occupational therapist before beginning her writing career.
She was inducted into the Order of Canada in 2003.
She had two children, Natalie and Gordon.
Writer Alice Munro also attended the University of Western Ontario.
