ABOUT PETER CARL FABERGE
Russian jeweler who created the Faberge eggs made of gemstones and precious metals.
He received his education in jewel making from his father who was also a jeweler.
He started out making festive and elaborately decorated Easter eggs for the Tsar.
He returned to Russia and married Augusta Julia Jacobs after completing his apprenticeship abroad.
His business was confiscated and given over to the state after Vladimir Ilyich Lenin and the Communist Party seized power in Russia.
