Peter Gennaro
ABOUT PETER GENNARO
American dancer and choreographer who choreographed the stage productions of Annie, West Side Story, and Singin' in the Rain. He won the 1977 Tony Award for Best Choreography.
He had his Broadway debut with the ensemble of Make Mine Manhattan in 1948.
He was inducted into the American Theatre Hall of Fame in 2002.
He has a daughter Liza who has also been a dancer and choreographer and a son Michael who has worked as the Executive Director for Trinity Repertory Company.
He was a guest with his dance troupe on Ed Sullivan 's CBS Sunday night variety show many times.
