ABOUT PETER LOUGHEED
Late Progressive Conservative who served as the 10th Premier of Alberta from 1971 to 1985. He held his first political position as a Member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta from 1967 to 1986.
He earned a bachelor of law and arts degree from the University of Alberta in the 1950s.
The Peter Lougheed Provincial Park in Kananaskis, Alberta is named in his honor.
He had four children, Stephen, Andrea, Pamela and Joseph, with wife Jeanne Rogers.
He topped the Institute for Research on Public Policy's list of top Premiers of the last 40 years with Bill Davis .
