ABOUT PETER ROWAN

Bluegrass musician known for composing Panama Red and Lonesome L.A. Cowboy. He was proficient with guitar, mandolin, and yodeling.

He created his own rockabilly band called The Cupids while in junior high school.

He contributed several songs to the New Riders of the Purple Sage's repertoire.

His parents were musicians. He was a Buddhist.

He was heavily influenced by Elvis Presley and Joan Baez .
