ABOUT PHILIP ALAN HOSTERMAN

The late father of singer and actress Dove Cameron , who rose to fame playing both title characters on Disney's Liv and Maddie.

A musician early in life, he played piano and saxophone gigs throughout high school. He would later accompany his daughters on the piano as they became singers.

He was previously a member of the Peace Corps and later founded the Kandahar Trading Company, which became an ethnic fashion accessories company.

He married Bonnie Wallace in Peshawar, Pakistan. They had two daughters, Dove and Claire .

His daughter, Dove , was briefly engaged to actor Ryan McCartan in 2016.
