ABOUT PHILIP J. PIERRE

Saint Lucian politician known for serving as the 9th Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, serving as the Minister for Finance, Economic Development, and the Youth Economy, and being the Leader of the Saint Lucia Labour Party.

He studied at Saint Mary's College. He then completed an undergraduate degree in economics and a Master of Business Administration from the University of the West Indies. He worked as a teacher before getting involved in politics. He joined the Saint Lucia Labour Party in 1985 and represented the Castries East constituency in the House of Assembly starting in 1997.

He is passionate about supporting women's sports in Saint Lucia. He posts political content and career updates on his philipj.pierre Instagram account.

He was born and raised in Waterworks, Saint Lucia, British Windward Islands. His mother was a teacher and his father was a policeman. He has one daughter.
