ABOUT PHILIP VICKERY

Former England rugby union player and athlete who is best known for his strength, durability, and leadership. He played tighthead and loosehead prop but was best known in the tighthead position, often praised for his scrummaging power and work rate around the pitch.

Played for Cornish clubs like Redruth RFC, which is where he first started making a name for himself in local rugby circles.

He was part of the 2003 Rugby World Cup-winning team. In his prime, he stood a towering six feet, three inches tall and weighed close to 300 pounds. He started his career with the Cornish club Bude. He was also a co-commentator for ITV's coverage of the 2011 Rugby World Cup.

He was born in Barnstaple, Devon, and raised on a farm near Bude, Cornwall.
