ABOUT PHOEBE WAHL

Illustrator and author who is famous for her work in children's fiction. She earned acclaim for her debut 2015 children's novel Sonya's Chickens, for which she won the Ezra Jack Keats Book Award for best new illustrator.

She grew up unschooled. She later earned her BFA in illustration from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2013.

She contributed to the 2014 book The Who, the What, and the When: 65 Artists Illustrate the Secret Sidekicks. Her children's novel Sonya's Chickens was named by HuffPost Books as one of the best children's books of 2015.

She has one sister named Tobie.

She and Chris Riddell are both famous children's novelists known for their illustration work.
