ABOUT PLESTIA ALAQAD

Palestinian journalist who has gained recognition for posting content about Gaza through her perceptiveness. Her videos have been shared by the ABC, BBC, Business Today, The Independent, The New York Times, PBS NewsHour, and The Washington Post. Her Instagram account byplestia has garnered more than 4.4 million followers.

She attended the American International School. In 2022, she graduated with a degree in New Media and Journalism from Eastern Mediterranean University in Cyprus.

She has worked as the Human Resources Manager for StepUp Agency since May 2023. In 2023, she also worked as the News Editor and Social Media Manager at Press House. She was interviewed by the GB News Breakfast Show about conditions in Gaza.

Her grandfather has appeared on her Instagram account. She has a brother and a sister.
