Actor and director known for his work in half a dozen Indian languages, including Kannada, Tamil, and Telugu. He's performed in both the Cinema of South India and Bollywood.
He attended St. Joseph's College of Commerce. He started out working as a theatre actor and street performer before establishing himself in film in the 1990s.
He's won several awards throughout his career, especially for his work as a supporting actor and in antagonist roles.
He was married to Lalitha Kumari from 1994-2009 and had three children with her. He married Pony Verma in 2010.
He and Mohanlan Nair both starred in Iruvar, one of Raj's many award-winning films.
