Rabbie Namaliu

ABOUT RABBIE NAMALIU

Politician and member of the Pangu Party who served as the fourth Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea from 1988 to 1992.

He studied at the University of Victoria in Canada.

He was the Foreign Minister as part of the National Alliance Party government of Michael Somare from 2002 to 2006, when he became the Finance Minister.

He was married to civil servant Margaret Nakikus from 1987 until her death in 1992. They had two sons and a daughter together.

He and Paias Wingti are both former Prime Ministers of Papua New Guinea.
