ABOUT RACHEL SIMMONS
American author whose popular book, Odd Girl Out: The Hidden Culture of Aggression in Girls, was published in 2002. Her later works include The Odd Girl Speaks Out and The Curse of the Good Girl.
She graduated from Vassar College and later attended Lincoln College, Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar.
She once gave a speech about empowerment to sixth and seventh grade girls at Qualters Middle School in Massachusetts.
Her mother Claire was a Jewish historian and her father Luiz was an attorney and a member of the Maryland General Assembly.
Odd Girl Out was made into a television film starring Alexa Vega .
