Polish, post-war poet who became known for Sezon and other existential, political, and erotic works. His collected poetic works were published posthumously in 1999.
He dropped out of school multiple times and suffered from both alcoholism and depression.
He committed suicide at the age of twenty-five, having previously attempted to kill himself on several occasions.
He was born into a prominent family in Upper Silesia, Poland.
His work is sometimes compared to that of nineteenth-century French poet Arthur Rimbaud . Wojaczek was also, however, heavily influenced by the Beat and confessional poets of his own era.
