ABOUT RAVINDRA RANDENIYA
Sri Lankan actor and politician who was remembered for his role in the 1972 Lester James Peries -directed film, Desa Nisa. Three years later, he played Mogollana in The God King.
He started out taking classes in screenwriting at Lionel Wendt Theatre Workshop for two years prior to launching his career.
He won the 1984 Sarasaviya Best Actor Award.
His family comes from Dalugama, Kelaniya.
Acclaimed producer Lester James Peries directed the film that made Randeniya famous.
