ABOUT RAY COONEY

Playwright who wrote Run for Your Wife, which was the longest-running play in London's West End's history at nine years.

He began appearing on stage in 1971 and co-wrote the screenplay for the British film What a Carve Up!.

He is also an occasional screen actor who appeared in the 1973 film adaptation of his farce Not Now, Darling.

His son Michael is a screenwriter who wrote the 2003 film Identity.

His play Run for Your Wife was made into a film starring Danny Dyer in 2012.
