ABOUT RAY PERKINS
Veteran football coach who coached at nearly every level of football for teams like the New York Giants , the University of Alabama and Oak Grove High School. For his time as a player and coach at Alabama, he was inducted into the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame in 1990.
He was a wide receiver at Alabama and won National Championships in 1964 and 1965.
He was named SEC Player of the Year in 1966.
He was married to a woman named Carolyn for thirty years.
He played for legendary coach Paul Bear Bryant , whom he would later succeed as the head coach of the University of Alabama Crimson Tide.
