ABOUT RENEE ASHERSON
Film and stage actress who played Nerissa, Portia's waiting-maid, in The Merchant of Venice. She is recognized for playing the character Old Lady in the popular horror film The Others . She amassed over 60 on-screen acting roles throughout her career.
She trained to become an actress at Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art.
She was in the 1951 film The Magic Box with her future husband. In 1999, she played the character Carrie Belaney in the movie Grey Owl.
She married Robert Donat in 1953.
She appeared in the psychological horror film The Others, starring Nicole Kidman .
