ABOUT REX PICKETT
An American film director, screenwriter, and novelist, he is most famous for his novel-turned-movie, Sideways. He published Vertical, a sequel to Sideways, in 2011.
He graduated with highest honors from the University of California-San Diego. In 1984, he wrote and directed a film called California Without End.
He worked on the screenplay for Alien 3; however, his work was rejected by the studio.
He was raised in Merced, California. He was married to fellow writer and director Barbara Schock.
Virginia Madsen was nominated for an Oscar for her work in the film adaptation of Pickett's novel, Sideways.
