ABOUT RICARDO RODRIGUEZ

Professional center and left-back that was first signed by the Zürich Football Club in 2010 as a teenager. He later signed a multi-year deal with the Torino Football Club of the Italian Serie A league in August 2020. He has also played for the Switzerland men's national team during his professional career.

He initially began his youth soccer career with FC Schwamendingen in 2001. He then joined the Zürich youth academy in 2002.

He played for Team Switzerland during the 2012 Summer Olympics, the 2014 FIFA World Cup, the 2016 UEFA EuroCup, the 2018 FIFA World Cup and the 2020 UEFA EuroCup. He appeared in his 100th international match while playing against the Czech Republic on September 27, 2022.

Growing up, he lived with his family in Zürich, Switzerland. He was born of Chilean and Spanish descent.

He has played alongside Granit Xhaka and Xherdan Shaqiri as a member of the Switzerland men's national team during his professional career.
