Veterinarian and NASA astronaut whose first mission was for the Life Sciences and Microgravity Spacelab.
He graduated from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine.
He was payload commander on the STS-90 Neurolab mission in 1998.
He was raised by his paternal grandparents.
He and Garrett Reisman were on STS-123.
