ABOUT RICHARD LUGNER

Austrian construction entrepreneur and billionaire who ran twice in the Austrian presidential elections as an independent candidate. He was famous for entertaining celebrities at the Vienna Opera Ball including Pamela Anderson , Jane Fonda , Priscilla Presley , and Goldie Hawn . In 2014, he reportedly paid $500,000 to have Kim Kardashian as his date for the ball.

He was married to his first wife Christine Gmeiner from 1961 to 1978.

He built the Lugner City shopping center in Vienna in the year 1990. It was the seventh largest shopping center in Austria at the time. He died two months after marrying his sixth wife. He was given the nickname "Mörtel" by Austrian tabloid journalist Michael Jeannée.

In June 2024, he married Simone Reiländer at Vienna City Hall in Vienna. He had four children named Jacqueline, Nadine, Alexander, and Andreas.

His Vienna Opera Ball was also attended by Melanie Griffith and Lindsay Lohan .
