ABOUT ROBERT PROSKY

American actor best known for his roles in Christine and the television series Cheers. He also starred in Michael Mann's crime drama, Thief.

He studied acting at the American Theatre Wing and performed at Old Academy Players near his home in Philadelphia.

He originated the role of Shelly in the stage production of David Mamet's Glengarry Glen Ross.

He married Ida Hove in 1960 and the couple had three children: Stefan, John, and Andrew.

In 1993, he appeared as Jonathan Lundy in Mrs. Doubtfire, which starred Robin Williams .
