Mexican American super bantamweight and amateur featherweight division boxer who started his professional career by winning his first 19 bouts.
He finished his amateur career with a record of 165-15 which includes a gold medal at the 2006 National Junior Olympics and silver medals at the 2006 International Aliyev Cup, 2006 National PAL Championships, and 2008 U.S. Olympic Team Trials.
His first professional defeat came at the hands of Francisco Leal.
He was born in Dallas, Texas.
