ABOUT RODRIGO CHAVES ROBLES

Conservative politician and economist who served as the 49th President of Costa Rica from May 2022. In his inaugural speech he stated "the fear of God is the basis of a ruler's wisdom." He was Minister of Finance from 2019 to 2020.

He was accused of sexual harassment by multiple women while working at the World Bank.

In 2022, he declared a state of emergency after a month of ransomware attacks against the Costa Rican government.

In 2015, he married Signe Zeicate. From 1986 to 1996, he was married to Monika Hempel Nanne.

He was Minister of Finance during the presidency of Carlos Quesada .
