ABOUT ROGER ABBOTT

Remembered for his three-decade membership in a popular television and radio comedy group called the Royal Canadian Air Farce, this English-born entertainer received a Juno Award, a Governor General's Performing Arts Award, and numerous Association of Canadian Television and Radio Artists (ACTRA) Awards.

In the early 1970s, he joined The Jest Society, a troupe that would later be re-named the Royal Canadian Air Farce.

On his various Royal Canadian Air Farce radio and television series, he parodied such celebrities and world leaders as songwriter Leonard Cohen and United States President George W. Bush .

Though a native of Birkenhead, England, he spent the later years of his childhood and all of his adult life in Canada. Sadly, he died in his early sixties of chronic lymphocytic leukemia.

He and Luba Goy were both members of the Royal Canadian Air Farce.
