American funk singer known for his use of vocal synthesizers while fronting the 1980s band Zapp.
He was a member of several bands in the 1970s, including Parliament-Funkadelic and The Crusaders.
He released four solo albums between 1981 and 1991.
He has nine siblings, including his three brothers named Larry, Terry, and Lester who also performed in Zapp.
His vocals are featured in Tupac Shakur 's song, "California Love."
