ABOUT ROGER WHITTAKER
British singer and songwriter who had a number-one hit song in 1970 called "New World in the Morning." He was also known for his trademark whistling ability. His song "Albany - German Version" has accumulated over 10 million streams on Spotify.
He spent two years in the Kenyan Regiment before attending 18 months at the University of Cape Town in South Africa. He later worked as a teacher in the civil service education department.
He published an autobiography called So Far, So Good in 1986. In 2016, he released his popular album Anthology.
He was born to grocery store owners Edward and Viola Whittaker. He married Natalie O'Brien in 1964; they had five children together.
He featured Des O'Connor on his 1994 song "The Skye Boat Song".
