ABOUT ROMAN BOHNEN
Acclaimed actor who was part of New York's prestigious Group Theatre collective and appeared in the 1948 version of Joan of Arc . After appearing in Of Mice and Men, he played Pat Derry in The Best Years of Our Lives.
He made his Broadway debut in a 1931 production of as Husbands Go, and two years later was invited to join the Group Theatre, where he appeared in several plays by Clifford Odets.
He collapsed from a fatal heart attack during a production of A Distant Isle in 1949 - the same year he was blacklisted by Hollywood.
He had a daughter named Marina with his wife, Hilda.
He was cast as President Harry Truman in the MGM docu-drama about the atomic bomb titled, The Beginning or the End. The real Truman apparently disliked the portrayal.
