ABOUT RON OFFEN
Poet, playwright, and critic known for his Pulitzer Prize-nominated work, God's Haircut and Other Remembered Dreams. His other works include Instead of Gifts (Poems for Poets) and Poet As Bad Guy.
He attended the University of Chicago and worked as a poetry columnist for the Chicago Daily News.
He founded the literary magazine Free Lunch, which published and promoted the work of Billy Collins and other renowned poets.
He was married three times. With his second wife Rosine, he co-founded a theatre company called The Peripatetic Task Force.
He was influenced by the literary work of Charles Bukowski .
