Ruan Sims

ABOUT RUAN SIMS

Former professional rugby player best known for her time with the rugby league and rugby union. She was part of the winning team at the 2013 and the 2017 Women's Rugby World Cup. She was also the first woman to receive a player contract with the National Rugby League. Her ruan_sims Instagram account consists of professional events and snapshots of her home life. She has attracted 10,000 fans to the account.

She began playing rugby as a child.

She has worked for the New South Wales Fire and Rescue Service. She has also worked for sports news channels as a sideline commentator at rugby games.

She has three brothers named Ashton, Korbin and Tariq, all of whom play rugby. Her sister, Canecia, is also a rugby player. All of them inherited their interest in the sport from their mother, former rugby player Jackie Sims. In November of 2020, she adopted a Ridgeback Wolfhound named Baxter.

She and Ellia Green both played for the Australian national women's rugby team.
