ABOUT RUBY WILSON

American blues and gospel singer and actress known for having sung in clubs on Beale Street, Memphis, Tennessee for more than 40 years. She has also appeared in a number of films, including The People vs. Larry Flynt and Cookie's Fortune.

She worked as a kindergarten teacher in Memphis before gaining fame as a singer.

She received the Memphis Sound Award for Best Entertainer in 2006.

She married and later divorced BB King 's road manager. Her mother was a church choir director.

She has performed with Ray Charles and Isaac Hayes .
