ABOUT RUSSELL MARYLAND

First overall selection of the 1991 NFL draft by the Dallas Cowboys who helped the Cowboys win three Super Bowls by stuffing the run at the defensive tackle position. He was a Pro Bowl selection in 1993.

He played his college ball at Miami and won two National Championships there in 1987 and 1989. He was named a Consensus All-American, the UPI Lineman of the Year, and won the Outland Trophy all in 1990.

He was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 2011.

He was born in Chicago, Illinois and played football in Dallas, Oakland, and Green Bay.

He was coached by Jimmy Johnson during his successful run with the Cowboys.
