He made his Broadway directorial debut in Gems in 2012 and directed plays including For Colored Girls.

He was born in Philadelphia.

He shared the stage with legends Isaac Hayes and Patti LaBelle as well as high-profile artists such as Mary J. Blige , Jill Scott and India Arie .
