He graduated from Baku State University in 2008 with a degree in Geography. He started modeling in 2005 after being approached by modeling scouts.
He won Best Model of the World by the Republic of Azerbaijan in December 2007. He has over 90,000 followers on his rustamjabrayilovofficial Instagram account.
His family is Azerbaijani and he moved to Baku with them when he was 5.
He and Dasha Dereviankina are both models from Ukraine.
